Since its establishment in 1998, the College of Applied Business has been an institution preferred by students striving for committed learning. College of Applied Business endeavors to innovate its teaching-learning pedagogy which involves students in activities that enhance their research capabilities, interpersonal and mass communication skills. Graduates of the College of Applied Business have identified themselves as being different and stand apart in all respects both in the field of advanced learning and personal life. The schedules are designed in a way where students do not have to sacrifice their passion but still, excel in learning.

There are numerous extracurricular activities at College of Applied Business that keep students busy throughout the year. The student council independently designs and implements different activities for the physical and cognitive development of the students.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)-TU

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)-TU

BCA, the Bachelor of Computer Application, is a new computer science degree introduced by Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tribhuvan University. The degree is intended to produce software developers, network engineers, system designers and system administrators. Studies show that most American universities have placed the computer science degree under liberal arts. This way the philosophy of introducing BCA by Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tribhuvan University should be welcomed whole-heartedly. College of Applied Business has been for the past 20 years conducting courses in management and information technology (IT).

In these years, CAB graduates of BBA and IT have placed themselves in better positions both in advanced studies and job markets. CAB has been applying various teaching methodologies such as in-depth learning, field / project works and mass communicating skill that differentiate its graduates from others. Although CAB applies the same pedagogies, co-curriculum and extra-curriculum with experience of twenty years, student with BCA certificate from CAB will be having the same cutting-edge experience like its graduates in management and information technology.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc CSIT) - TU

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc CSIT) - TU

B. Sc. CSIT is comparatively a new program CAB has introduced for students having Science as major in the Plus Two or PCL or equivalent. This is a four-year (eight-semester) course of Institute of Science and Technology of TU, and is a highly competitive degree in Information Technology. After completion of this course, students shall have threefold opportunity to pursue higher studies for career advancement. One is M.Sc. Computer Science; the second is Master of Information Technology; and the third is MBA. B. Sc. CSIT puts its students at par with those doing Computer Engineering. This is an undergraduate course requiring students 126 Cr/Hrs including internship of three months in an organization and a report on the internship. Project work and fieldwork are also its regular features. CAB is constantly exploring possibilities of new openings. B. Sc. CSITBIM are the key programs benefiting the students doubly at a minimum cost, including an Advanced Diploma in Computer Engineering. B. Sc. CSIT is the degree with national and international prospect.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)-TU

CAB offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in the process of its horizontal development in academic program. BBA is a four-year, eight-semester regular course of Tribhuvan University (TU). BBA program is a broad-based cross-functional education in Business, Economics and Information Technology designed to prepare students for much needed advanced middle-level leadership in both private and public sectors of the national and global economy. This undergraduate business course provides opportunity for students to experimental learning by narrowing down the difference between theory and practice. BBA at CAB stresses academic excellence as it strives for continuous improvement in learning. At CAB, students are encouraged to stress on knowledge, technical, interpersonal and experimental skills in the development of managerial decision-making. CAB is a hallmark of excellence in Management education. It has striven to achieve its objectives through various academic activities in the past. The efforts have yielded high dividends to CAB and its students. The university results have been almost cent percent and most significantly, CAB students have been placed in top positions repeatedly. Semester program in CAB has been an examplary experience, because it has blended these programs with regular seminars, project works, and, most notably, with an opportunity to share the experience with the people occupying responsible position in various sectors. Therefore, BBA at CAB is blended with fun and a strive for academic excellence. The four-year BBA program is a regular undergraduate program of TU. Completion of this four-year program fulfils requirement for entry into Master’s Degree of Business Management in all universities the world over. The BBA degree also fortifies students’ chances at obtaining high paying middle-level managerial positions in industrial / business houses.

CAB offers four-year (eight-semesters) undergraduate course in Information Technology of Tribhuvan University (TU). The Bachelor of Information Management (BIM) is an integrated course with a blend of Management education with recent developments in Information Technology. CAB plays a frontal role among the TU affiliated institutions as the drive to changes in the teaching pedagogies. These changes in techniques have enabled CAB to run BIM program effectively and have brought a rich dividend to CAB. The results of BIM students have been outstanding among similar TU affiliates. Besides, as IT professionals are in high demand all over, students graduating from this program will have the option for a highly paying professional career straightaway. After completing this program students can join Master’s degree in Business Management / Information Technology in all universities the world over.

Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS)-TU

Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS)-TU

The BBS is a recently reconstructed four-year undergraduate course of Tribhuvan University. However, this program has been a distinctive one as it intergrates various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the teaching-learning process. Students are guided and encouraged to conduct mini-research in areas of interest and make public their findings in the presence of professionals and scholars. Likewise, the regular course-based seminars and industrial study programs held every winter have contributed to students for consistent and better performance along with high success rate with excellent marks in the University. BBS is a relative requiement for middle-level managerial positions in governmental agencies and business houses, and has been recognized by professional bodies in Nepal. Note: Eligibility for admission in BBS is a minimum of B GPA in Higher Secondary Education Examination (HSEE) or above 60% marks in aggregate in HSEE or PCL in management or equivalent in any other discipline, where a student has taken minimum 100 full marks of course each in English and Economics or Mathematics. Class Hours 10:15AM – 05:00PM
